Filtrete Water Station
This has been one of the best things that has ever been given to us. Before we got this, we went through probably near 50 bottles of water a week. I've never been a big bottled-water person, but the tap water here is horrendous. & with Hubby having to PT every morning, he'd take just 4 with him to work! It was definately a situation that needed to be fixed.

Then we found out about this through a friend, and asked my parents to get it for us for a Christmas gift. Best gift ever! The water tastes great, and we haven't bought a bottle of water since. It comes with four bottles in the station, and we fill them all up once a night, and sometimes in the afternoon. Hubby also was given this Brita Filtering Bottle so he can fill it up as many times as he wants out of the faucets at work too! I can't say enough nice things about it. & not to mention how much money it saves! It's not even that expensive anyways, and it's completely worth it! Love love love it!

Petco Nylon & Mesh Dog Muzzle
If you're one of those people who thinks this is inhumane, then you might as well stop reading here. I've heard it all, and I've still decided to use it.

My dog is one of those dogs that barks at all noises. Anthing he can't see he barks at. He barks when Hubby comes home. He barks at the mail-lady. He barks at the neighbors when they talk outside. Yet, the sound of artillery that make my windows rattle all day long at the nearby range doesn't seem to phase him. Go figure.

I've tried so many things to stop the barking. He's been barking since day one. But on day one, he was a cute little 5 month fuzzy ball with an itty bitty bark, and it was just adorable. Three years later, I regret never having stopped that little habit from the beginning. So, after recommendations & some research I went with this one. I didn't want anything too heavy for his little 9 pound body/head or too tight.
The store I bought this one from had all the different size options, but the Small seemed too small, so I went with Medium. It's just a bit too big, but it works. And at this point (it only took a few consistent days of use), I rarely even have to put it on him - as soon as I pick it up he'll stop [he's a smart little booger]. I did put it on for a moment this morning when the mail-lady decided to knock while leaving a package on the doorstep, & I snapped a picture so you can see how he reacts to it - he just lays down. He also does the same with tshirts, sweaters, coats, shoes. I can't blame him, wearing clothes is annoying to me too.

Canopy Waterproof Mattress Pad
I know, I know - kind of a weird first product. But I just have to share my review! When I first moved here (Hubby was deployed), my in-laws bought us a new mattress as a  wedding gift, and I just went to Kmart and bought the first Queen-sized mattress pad I saw. Didn't really think anything of it, just that I needed one.
It didn't take long until I realized how much I hated it! I move around while I sleep like nothing else (which is as plain as day since my side of the sheets are always jumbly & rumply). Because of that, and because of the awful MP I previously had, the corners would always pop off the mattress. The elastic on the sides didn't hold tight enough so it would came off every night, which then pulled the fitted sheet off as well [side note: one thing in life that gives me the heeby-jeebies is the feel of a mattress]. As you can imagine- every morning as I made the bed, I'd grumble to myself how much I hated it. And every weekend when I changed the sheets I'd tell Hubby that we needed to buy a new one.

So we did. I did a little research a couple months ago, and found that the Canopy one had really good ratings, and didn't cost a small fortune. I went out the next day to buy it, and our local Walmart didn't have it in a Queen. We don't really go to Walmart often, but I happened to check when we went last week and there it was! Staring right at me on the front of the shelf! So I snatched it up, and put it on the bed as soon as we got home.

Honestly I was leary because I'm a super picky sleeper. And I was afraid it would crinkle a lot (like our last one) and be hot (like our last one) - but it wasn't. Best buy ever! The only remaining test now is to see if the elastic holds up well...
